Greetings Eric and Leonie - I am and "old noid" - into my 11th year now.
Had bowel resection in 2000 and liver resection three months later - March 2001. Have been on Interferon (briefly way back) Sandostatin LAR for
eight years. In between Harvey Turner's Lu 177 at Fremantle.
Sirmicrospheres last year - directly into liver. Before that I was stable for many years, however in the last two years tumours are on the move.
I remain well, except for tiredness and of course have to be careful with
what I can and cannot eat. At the present moment my oncologist at St John of God Subiaco is speaking with radiologists to decide which nuclear treatment will be best for me at this stage. I have followed your story
from your surgery days, when my friend Pierre (sadly he passed away in July) told me of you and your journey. I shall keep in touch. I hope
and trust that you are making a good recovery from you last set-back
a couple of months ago Eric. I was a tough time for you both by the sound
of things. Much better times ahead for you both Continue to enjoy those
little breaks away. Every best wish and special regards - Vicki

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for novice blog writers? I'd definitely appreciate it.

Hi Richard,
In my case I have two carcinoid mets in my left eye orbit. One on the lower muscle and one near and on the optic nerve. This is extremely rare occurance but it certainly happens. It took Gallium68 wholebody PET scan to find them. I have not noticed flashes or floaters but if the optic nerve is affected it certainly could produce such things I would think. Best talk to your oncologist about it and getting some sort of scan of your head methinks.

Best regards, Eric
